Jarlath Regan, from RTE’s The Panel and Russell Howard’s Good News, hosts Standup & Answers, a very special new table-quiz-based comedy show that’s become a cult hit over the past two years, fusing stand-up comedy from some of Ireland’s best loved comics with ridiculous trivia rounds. The show has attracted comedy heavy-weight guests, such as Ardal O’Hanlon, Rubberbandits and David O’Doherty, to name just a few.  The pub quiz, like stand-up comedy, has recently become a staple part of Irish life but never before have the two been married together in such a joyous union.  The focus is firmly on taking the mickey with rounds as diverse as ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Tayto?’, ‘What feckin’ movie was that in?’, ‘The Leaving Cert. Irish Aural Round’. It works just like a regular table quiz but, instead of boring rounds, there are hilarious rounds and, instead of waiting around for your answers to be corrected, you get to enjoy the best standup Ireland has to offer. Don’t worry, there will still be a winner and the prizes are always excellent.
